stories of service: my city encouragement cards

Last weekend thousands of youth from many churches in Northern California attended the My City youth conference at Capital Christian Center, an event designed to unite pastors and inspire students to impact their circles of influence for God. Serve Sacramento set up a table during the conference and asked local youth to write encouragement cards to inmates who are at Folsom Prison. The cards were delivered during a worship service at Folsom Prison on Sunday evening. Prisoners were visibly moved as some of the cards were read out loud. They applauded the efforts of the youth and were able to receive a note of encouragement to read during challenging times.A huge THANK YOU to every young person who took time to write a note! Your act of love made a big difference in the lives of people who often feel forgotten.

If you are interested in writing a letter to an inmate at Folsom Prison, you can address the card to our offices at 2830 G Street Sacramento CA 95816 and we will hand deliver it during a future visit to the prison.
